Terms of Service

Draft · last updated September 2026

Draft for legal review. These are plain-language placeholder terms. They have not been reviewed by a lawyer and are not legal advice. Have them reviewed before offering PLANIT publicly or charging for it.

Using PLANIT

PLANIT is a tool for families to organize everyday life. You're responsible for the accounts you create, for who you invite into your family, and for the content you add. Parents are responsible for their children's use.

Who may hold an account

Account holders must be 18 or over. Children take part as family members, added and managed by a parent. A member needs no email address, no password and nothing to sign in to, and that is how PLANIT is meant to be used for a child.

A child may be given their own login only where a parent creates the invitation, from inside their own signed-in account, and only for their own family. Doing so is the parent's decision and their consent: the parent remains responsible for that child's use of PLANIT, and can remove the account, change what the child can see, or delete it entirely at any time from Family ▾.

Ask PLANIT is the one feature that sends family content outside PLANIT's own database (see the Privacy notice). For a child it is switched off unless a parent switches it on.

Needs legal review before charging for PLANIT: where children hold their own accounts, laws on children's data, COPPA in the United States, and the GDPR children's provisions in the EU and UK, where the age varies by country between 13 and 16, may require a specific, verifiable form of parental consent and particular notices. A lawyer should confirm what is required in the places PLANIT is actually offered.

Your content

You keep ownership of everything you add. You give PLANIT permission to store and show it to the members of your family so the app can work.

Documents and signing

Fill & Sign adds your typed text and a picture of your signature to a PDF, like signing a printout. It is not a certified or identity-verified electronic signature and may not be accepted where one is legally required. Edit text and White-out cover existing text; covered text may still be recoverable from the file.

Money features

The Budget & allowance section is a simple record-keeping list for your family. PLANIT is not a bank, does not hold or move money, and does not provide financial advice.

Limits

To keep the service reliable and affordable, families have limits (for example, document storage and the number of items per list). We may change limits with notice.

Availability

PLANIT is provided "as is". We work to keep it available and your data safe, but can't guarantee uninterrupted service. Keep your own backups of anything important (Family ▾ → Download a backup).

What stays free, permanently

PLANIT may one day charge for some things. These four are not among them, and this section exists so that promise is written down somewhere you can hold us to rather than left as an intention.

  1. The calendar is never limited by date. Every event you have ever added stays visible, and you can add one as far ahead as you like. We will not put your own past or future behind a payment.
  2. Your information is always yours to take. A complete export (Family ▾ → Download a backup) stays available to every family on every plan, including after you stop paying for anything. Leaving PLANIT will never mean leaving your data behind.
  3. No advertising, ever. No ads, no advertising identifiers, no selling or sharing your family's information with anyone for marketing. Not on a free plan, not on any plan.
  4. What you have already put in stays usable. If a paid tier arrives, it will unlock new things. It will not take away something your family already relies on.

Charges, if they come, will be for things that cost us money to run, the AI assistant, or storing a great deal of documents, and you will be told before anything changes.

If PLANIT is ever charged for

Not written yet, must be, before taking a single payment. Charging for PLANIT needs terms these do not contain: what a subscription costs and what it includes, how and when it renews, how to cancel, what happens to your family's information after you cancel or stop paying, refunds, how much notice you get before a price change, who the contract is with, and which country's law governs it. Consumer-subscription rules differ by country (for example the EU and UK give a statutory cancellation right), so this needs a lawyer in the places PLANIT is actually sold, not a template.

Until that is written, PLANIT is free and there is nothing to pay.

Ending

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or other people.
